Support for training and professionalization

As part of its Schéma Territorial du Développement du Sport, voted for in 2018, the Collectivité de Saint-Martin wishes to support training and professionalization by setting up an Aide à la Formation et à la Professionnalisation dans les métiers du Sport (AFPS) scheme.

The AFPS is designed to support students and trainees in vocational training, within a framework of mobility, or not, leading to the exercise of a sports profession on the territory of Saint-Martin.

Eligibility

To be eligible for Aide à la Formation et à la Professionnalisation dans les métiers du Sport, applicants must meet the following conditions:

- Have been a resident of Saint-Martin for at least 3 years;
- Be of legal age at the start date of the school or training course;
- Be of French nationality or a citizen of a European Union member state or
have a valid residence permit (valid for work or student authorization);
- Be enrolled in a training program aimed at the above objectives.

Financing conditions

The "Aide à la Formation et à la Professionnalisation dans les métiers du Sport" program finances
tuition, teaching
and accommodation costs, in addition to the
financial mechanisms mobilized to guarantee their professional project and according to the candidate's situation.

Financing criteria and terms

The granting of Aide à la Formation et à la Professionnalisation dans les métiers du Sport is based on two criteria:

- Critère 1 : une aide accordée selon les frais de scolarité ou pédagogiques
- Critère 2 : une aide accordée en mobilité selon les frais d'hébergement

The amount will be set by the deliberative body of the Centre d'Excellence et d'Éducation par le Sport.

The aid is only paid to the service provider in accordance with the terms of the agreement drawn up with the latter.

The benefit of the aid is subject to a commitment to return to the territory of Saint-Martin within six months of the end of the beneficiary's studies or training, and to devote the necessary duration to the exercise of a professional activity in the trade or field concerned by the funding obtained.

This duration is one and a half times the duration of the training required to obtain the qualification
considered.

For all applications:
- Valid identity document (CNI, passport; for non-EU nationals: valid residence permit
).
- Last tax assessment.
- Proof of student, employee, job seeker or other status.
- Curriculum vitae.
- Letter of motivation.
- Proof of admission to school or training

For tuition fees:
- Last diploma obtained.
- Detailed syllabus for the planned schooling or training program,
on school or training organization letterhead (compulsory information
: prerequisites, title, field concerned, skills targeted, teaching resources
used, location, duration of training, duration of internship, start and end dates of
training, qualification on completion).
- Annual schooling or training schedule.
- Estimate or invoice for schooling or training.
- Notification of acceptance or refusal of funding, depending on the situation.

For accommodation costs:
- Proof of residence in the name of the beneficiary (rental lease or rent receipt).
