As part of its Schéma Territorial du Développement du Sport, voted for in 2018, the Collectivité de Saint-Martin wishes to support sports mobility by setting up an Aide à la Mobilité d'Excellence Sportive scheme.
The mission of the Aide à la Mobilité d'Excellence Sportive (AMES) is to accompany student-athletes and provide them with financial support so that they can achieve their goals in pursuing their sporting careers.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Aide à la Mobilité d'Excellence Sportive, student-athletes must meet the following conditions:
- Hold a French baccalaureate or a diploma justifying the exemption or equivalence of this degree for enrolment in the first year of higher education, or be a student-athlete pursuing secondary academic and sports studies;
- Be a full-time or part-time student in an academic and sports institution;
- Be identified by a sports organization as a "Espoir", "Élite" or "Excellence" athlete in a sport, and be involved in a training and competition program at or towards the top level;
- Have been a resident of Saint Martin for at least 5 years, or be a member of a sports club in Saint Martin, and be selected by an organization outside the territory.
Financing conditions
The Aide à la Mobilité d'Excellence Sportive covers tuition, accommodation, transport and equipment costs.
The beneficiary can benefit from this aid for a maximum of 5 years, whether consecutively or not.
The amount will be set by the deliberation of the Center of Excellence and Education through Sport.
Financing criteria and terms
Mobility assistance for sporting excellence is awarded on the basis of a number of criteria:
- Criterion 1: Assistance is awarded to athletes to cover the cost of schooling.
- Criterion 2: Assistance is awarded to athletes to cover the cost of transport to and from their place of residence.
- Criterion 3: Assistance for sportsmen and women who live far from home, based on accommodation costs.
- Criterion 4: Assistance for sportsmen and women who need to purchase equipment to practice their sport (purchase of equipment: small equipment, large equipment, various subscriptions).
Payment of the 24-25 Sports Excellence Mobility Grant is made in two instalments:
- A first instalment: 50% of the AMES, after return of the agreement signed by the minor beneficiary and his/her legal representative - or by the adult beneficiary.
- A second instalment: 50% of the AMES after submission of a definitive registration certificate by December 15, 2024 at the latest.

- Copy of school reports for year n-1 or school attendance certificate
- Attestation indicating sporting level or copy of sports license
- Quotation if purchasing equipment
- Copy of proof of tuition fees (administrative and/or pedagogical)
Additional documents for renewal :
- Copy of school attendance certificate (request for renewal of aid).
- Supporting documents for expenses incurred in year n-1 (request for renewal of aid).
