Missions
This training aims to acquire the necessary skills to obtain the BP JEPS and to practice the profession of Sports Educator, option Aquatic and Swimming Activities, allowing to supervise and initiate the practice of these physical activities, within the limits of the regulatory frameworks.
Prerequisites
The prerequisites for each stage of the lifeguard training cycle are as follows:
STEP 1 : PSE1 Specific training - Risks Prevention Health Environment
Must be at least 18 years old
No specific level
Medical certificate justifying the trainee's aptitude (medical certificate less than 3 months old
Good physical condition
STEP 2 : Training for the preparation of the National Safety and Rescue Certificate (BNSSA)
Good physical condition
Hold a valid PSE 1 certificate
Have a good level of swimming
Medical certificate justifying the trainee's aptitude (medical certificate less than 3 months old)
STEP 3 : Training for the preparation of the Brevet Professionnel de la Jeunesse, de l'Education et du Sport - Speciality Aquatic and Swimming Activities (BPJEPS AAN)
Be at least 18 years old
Hold the PSE1 and PSE2 "First aid team level 1 and 2" (up to date of recycling)
Hold the BNSSA "Brevet National de Sécurité et de Sauvetage Aquatique" (up to date of recycling)
Pass the selection tests BPJEPS AAN
An interview to validate the training project and to evaluate the candidate's ability to support the entire training
Swim a 100m 4 swim in less than 1 minute 50 of the certification
Be a holder of the TEP (Text of Preliminary Requirement) : 800 meter freestyle in less than 16 minutes
Be medically cleared (medical certificate less than 3 months old).

STEP 1
Knowledge and skills needed by a first aider
The rescuer, the rescue chain, safety, alert, sudden airway obstruction, external bleeding, unconsciousness, cardiac arrest, automated external defibrillation, vital distress, illness and disease, skin accidents, bone and joint trauma, drowning, monitoring and assistance in moving, summary.
Swimming improvement
Knowledge and improvement of swimming techniques;

Health and consumption acts
Biological rhythms and sleep;
The importance of nutrition;
Physical activity and its benefits;

Citizenship training
Institutions and public life: knowing and understanding the functioning of institutions (European institutions, communities, administrations, EPCI, consular chamber, etc.)
Finances and public actions;
The citizen in the city: role of the citizen, issues of citizen life, civility, civic-mindedness, solidarity;
Public service: obligations of public service, principles, animating and participating in public service.
Knowledge of the heritage and history of Martinique
Knowledge of the heritage and history of Martinique;
Visits to bodies of water (pool, sea, river);
Tourist potential of the territory of Martinique (Tourist objects and tourist areas);
Marine ecosystems;
Ecology and functioning of coastal ecosystems.
PSE1
Prevent risks;
Implement appropriate behaviour in the face of an accident situation and/or physical distress, with or without first aid equipment, alone or as part of a team called upon to participate in organized rescue operations, under the control of the public authorities;
Ensure one's own safety and that of others;
Draw up a report and ensure that it is transmitted to the appropriate services.
STEP 2
PSE2
Take charge of a person who is a victim of a circumstantial injury;
Ensure safety within a team;
Coordinate the rescue actions carried out within a team;
Draw up an assessment of the situation and dialogue with the medical teams who will take over.
BNSSA
To situate one's role and mission, to implement the materials likely to be used, to respect the legal framework of one's mission, to situate the role of the different actors of the rescue in the field of aquatic rescue, to evaluate the specific risks in the aquatic environment, to identify the different risks linked to the practices and to adopt the adapted surveillance attitudes, to identify the accidentogenic behaviors and to carry out the adapted preventive actions, Adopt appropriate behaviour in the presence of a person in difficulty or distress in the surveillance zone, in or out of the aquatic environment, know the rules of the wind on the sea and in the river, prevent drowning, know and master the POSS (Plan d'Organisation de la Surveillance et des Secours - Surveillance and Rescue Organization Plan), take charge of the victim while waiting for the arrival of public help.

Sign language module
Discover sign language and the approach to deaf culture;

STEP 3
BPJEPS AAN

Guarantee safety in all places of bathing and practice of aquatic activities and swimming.
