Presentation of the event: The Sisters Islands Basketball Tournament 2026 (SIBT) is an international men's U18 basketball tournament organized in Saint-Martin.


The objective of this event is to promote the competitive practice of basketball among young people, while offering a showcase for emerging talents from the Caribbean and international regions.

Part of a dynamic of youth sport development and regional cooperation, the SIBT is a lever for promoting sports careers and strengthening exchanges between partner territories.

This joint commitment aims to strengthen the place of Saint-Martin as a driving territory for youth basketball in the Caribbean.

Beyond the competition, the event is part of a dynamic of youth development, the promotion of sport and the strengthening of the link between Caribbean communities. It is a lever for social cohesion and for the promotion of the region's sporting talents.

Organization

The CTBIN - Territorial Basketball Committee of the Northern Islands (977/978 Saint-Barthélemy - Saint-Martin) is the official organizer of the event.

The SIBT is also supported institutionally by the CEES, the Collectivity of Saint-Martin and the Caisse Territoriale des Oeuvres Sociales, in a common desire to structure and promote the development of youth basketball in the territory and in the Caribbean.

The 2026 edition will take place on May 15 and 16 at the Jean-Louis Vanterpool Stadium Sports Hall in Marigot. Over two days, the best U18 teams from the United States, Anguilla, Tortola, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Sint Maarten, and Saint-Martin will participate in high-level matches, recognition events, official ceremonies, and activities designed to highlight youth, sport, and Caribbean cooperation.

La sélection U18 de Saint-Martin a remporté ce week-end la première édition du Sisters Islands Basketball Tournament face aux États-Unis, 33 à 30. Une première édition réussie, qui marque l’ambition du Comité territorial de faire de l’île un rendez-vous incontournable du basket caribéen.
