From February 9 to 11, the Center for Excellence and Education through Sport (CEES) organized a unique program at Soualiga College, bringing together student-athletes from across the territory. This initiative places sport at the heart of a structured educational project, with the exceptional participation of Jacob Brown, a former NFL athlete who is now a coach and speaker.

Jacob Brown's presence made a lasting impression. During his talks, the former professional player addressed key topics: mental preparation, goal setting, and visualization. "Your sport will shape you, but it's what you become off the field that will define your future," he told the young athletes. This philosophy resonates with the CEES's vision: to use sport as a lever for personal and civic development. On Monday, February 9, a conference at the Grand Case Beach Club brought together athletes, families, and institutional representatives. The discussions highlighted the crucial role of parents in supporting young athletes and the need to place each career path within a sustainable educational vision.

Workshops to prepare yourself

The program was structured around several complementary workshops. For example, the Carnival-themed escape game, co-hosted with the Soualigan Slangs association, strengthened team cohesion. The student-athletes also benefited from modules on the risks associated with screen time, personal development, stress management, and media communication, taking turns playing the roles of journalists and athletes in role-playing games. Through this initiative, the CEES reaffirms its commitment to the youth of Saint Martin, transforming education through sport into a genuine regional strategy for the future.
