In the field of sports, the first edition of the "Women's Day Challenge" in Saint Martin will celebrate women on International Women's Rights Day, which takes place every year on March 8.

Women's sports will therefore be in the spotlight from March 6 to 8 with the Women's Day Challenge Sport & Talents 2026, organized by the Guadeloupean sports association ASPROJEXPOSE, which is involved in futsal and women's soccer. This year, the event will be held for the first time in Saint Martin. The Center of Excellence and Education through Sport (CEES), the Territorial Olympic Committee of Saint Barthélemy and Saint Martin (CTOS), the Saint Martin Football League, and the CCISM are joining forces for this occasion to promote women's performance, energy, and talent. The event will kick off on Friday, March 6, with an afternoon dedicated to introducing futsal to young people aged 12 to 16 at the Vanterpool Stadium Sports Hall in Marigot. This will be a warm-up before the activities and tournament that will take place over the following two days at the same location.

A futsal tournament

Saturday will begin with a Fitfoot session, open to all, organized by the Saint Martin Football League and the CTOS, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., as an introduction to the Futsal tournament. The tournament will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the participation of a dozen teams from the Caribbean, including teams from Dominica, French Guiana, and Guadeloupe, among others. The tournament will continue on Sunday with a short warm-up for the players at 9 a.m. before they take to the field. Admission is free for members of the public who wish to cheer on the women's teams competing.

A village dedicated to women

The CTOS and CCISM will be partners in the Women's Day Challenge Village, also dedicated to women, with mini-conferences, a nutrition area, musical entertainment, etc. It will be held on Saturday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the street adjacent to the Vanterpool Sports Hall. Beyond sports and the presence of several sports associations (Avenir Sportif Club de Saint-Martin, Friendly Longe-Côte, etc.), this village will also showcase expertise related to wellness, health (Maison sport et santé), entrepreneurship, and even crafts. Interested companies can contact the organizers, but please note that there is only one day left to do so, on Tuesday, March 3 (06 90 14 61 47 or 06 90 95 52 55). Please note that the first three visitors to sign up for one of the sports clubs will have their membership fees covered by the CTOS.
